What was investigated?

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between plantar pressure pattern and wearing comfort of five different prefabricated insoles. Therefore wearing comfort was assessed by a questionnaire and the use of a visual analogue scale. Plantar pressure was measured by a Pedar- X system. 31 runners were tested.

These are the results:

  • Flexibility is the key factor for comfort
  • currexSole shows the highest wearing comfort
  • Pressure load under the foot will not be increased

Bike

What was investigated?

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of an arch support orthotics (BIKEPRO) in injury preventing and performance improvement during powered cycling. 23 male professional cyclists were recruited.

These are the results:

  • More musclepower of Vastus Lateralis
  • The range of motion of the ankle joint is reduced, resulting in an increased horizontal knee stability
  • Improved recovery time of Biceps Femoris, Vastus Lateralis, Vastus Medialis, Peroneus Longus, Gastrocnemius
  • Enhance Muscular Output during EMG measurement of Vastus Lateralis, Vastus Medialis, Gastrocnemius

Golf

What was investigated?

Purpose of the study was to evaluate if the EDGEPRO could effectively control the posture sway, reduce muscle power as well as increase the accuracy of shots. 26 experienced golf players were recruited. They used their own shoes with the currexSole EDGEPRO insole.

These are the results:

  • Variance of path angle decreased and implies an increase of the swing dynamic stability and accuracy of shots
  • Smaller sway area of center of pressure. Thereby the stability is increased
  • Less muscle power is required

What was investigated?

The aim of the study was to evaluate the swing stability and performance with currexSole insoles. The 19 golf players had achieved training for two years. They had to hit the maximum distance with a 5 iron club. The hitting speed, swing ratio, path angle and clubface angle were measured.

These are the results:

  • Increased stability during swinging performance
  • The variability of all detected parameters is reduced, therefore an increased performance is induced

Tennis

What was investigated?

The purpose of the study was to investigate differences between insole with foot arch (currexSole) and normal insole in static balance and tennis performance. 20 college male tennis players were recruited and biomechanical parameters were collected.

These are the results:

  • Reduced ground reaction force
  • Improved tennis performance in ground stroke
  • Reduced shear force in ankle and knee
  • Reduced range of motion in the ankle indicated increased stability and reduced the risk of supination trauma

Baseball

What was investigated?

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of currexSole insoles on balance, impact force of lower extremity, ball velocity and pitching control during pitching fastball. 22 Division I collegiate baseball players participated in this study.

These are the results:

  • The lateral-medial knee flexion was significantly reduced, which indicates an increased knee stability
  • The angular between inversion and eversion of the ankle is reduced, thus providing a greater ankle stability
  • Pitching control was improved, the ball hit the target accurate

Work

What was investigated?

The aim of the study is to investigate the prevalence of musculoskeletal discomfort amongst workers in order to reduce injuries. The questionnaire measures the degree of discomfort. There was an intervention with currexSole insoles

These are the results:

  • After first week usage the pain was reduced
  • Starting point of heel pain was 90 %. After first week discomfort dropped by 20% and after a duration of four weeks, the discomfort dropped until 50%.
  • After 20 weeks of using insoles, the pain scale and discomfort level has evened off with a decrease of 40 %
